It's the number one movie in America this weekend, and women all over the USA have proven that for the right movie they can be a fiscal force to be reckoned with. However, once again, Hollywood has proven that they can make mediocre to good quality material, but not great material, and reap huge profits.

Let's face it, Sex and the City was over 4 years ago. In its day, it was a huge force that has helped to shape Manhattan. It was a lot of fun. But it is over. And now, we have a movie that tries to continue it, but in the end fails. Now, I am not saying the movie is bad. It has fun moments, but really feels like nothing more than a LONG episode that could have been broken up into a great mini season on HBO. Instead, for over two hours we are overrun by outrageous and unaffordable fashion and rehashing of everything the show already covered. The end of the show left Big and Carrie in a magical moment in fairy tale land with the two of them getting back together forever. And now the movie has cheapened that moment.
Still, if you were a fan of the show, you will want to catch up with your old friends. And really, that's what Sex and the City always revolved around anyway. Friends supporting friends through life.
